Wow it's December - the year seems to have flown by! A lot has happened in 2018, so I'm hunkering down in reflection mode for the next week or so…
I am one of those Type A personalities, who enjoys creativity. Is that a thing?
I typically use my phone to keep track of events, to-do lists, but lately I’ve found that I need to organize my thoughts more through pen and paper. The only trouble I have with pen and paper is that either the papers get lost or the notebook lack organization. I can’t tell you how many half finished notebooks I have in my possession.
Last week was quite uneventful for the most part. It was filled with lots of baking: cookies, cupcakes, macarons – i.e.: my happy place. I also reconnected with my colleagues and it was a nice chance of pace. It made me realize how happy I am with the decision I’ve made.
I think all this distraction was much needed to get away from the online rehashing of what happened in the midterm elections. The voter turnout and the results were definitely a sigh of relief for those of us watching from afar. All hope is not lost!
This past weekend, we went to one of my closest friend’s wedding. We had a blast at her wedding, it was a typical Indian wedding, with multiple days of celebrations, lots of colours, food, dancing and music.
What surprised me was that it made me miss planning my wedding, putting together a vision and an experience for the guests. I thought that was a part of my life I wouldn’t miss, because it was stressful! But it really was a treat for my Type A personality, and my urge to be creative!
So last week I decided to take a break from these weekly updates. That is the beauty of fun-employment right? I can decide to write or not write. But really, I just felt like I needed to just take a step back and focus in on what I was trying to achieve in this glorious time off. It’s this bizarre feeling of being able to do everything but nothing at the same time. (more…)
Hello and welcome to my week No. 3 Update – Happy October!
It’s finally feeling like fall, and a perfect excuse to wear my scarf collection! But weather aside, fall is a great segue into feeling like the end of the year is here. There’s about 90-something days left in the year! Can you believe it?
It’s been two weeks since I’ve been free of my adult responsibilities. Surprisingly, I’ve not yet hit panic mode. I’ve been actually enjoying it. Part of me is scared that I will get used to this and be okay with being unemployed forever. It is quite easy to fill my time.
This post is later than I would like, but last week was unique as I closed out the week in Scottsdale, Arizona, for a friend’s bachelorette party. Admittedly, I basically used this as an excuse to do nothing productive and just relax before an extended weekend of partying.
